You may want to check out the Isla Grande Airport (Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci Airport), as it is often a less costly and more convenient way to fly to nearby destinations when compared to the San Juan International Airport.  Also known as Aeropuerto de Isla Grande, this small, single-runway airport accommodates over 100,000 passengers each year traveling to and from other towns on the main island, offshore islands of Puerto Rico, and a few other Caribbean destinations.

The airport is located on Calle Lindbergh between the Puerto Rico Convention Center and Pan American Cruise Pier,  just southeast of Old San Juan in the business district of Miramar.  Airport management can be contacted at (787) 729-8715  ext. 3331.

Isla Grande Flying School at the Airport

The Isla Grande Flying School is a certified Cessna Pilot Center and offers pilot training with Certified Flight Instructors (CFI’s), aircraft maintenance, aircraft rentals, charter flights, sightseeing flights, and aerial photography services.  Courses include sport pilot, private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot certificate, and helicopter private.

Isla Grande Airport Parking (SIG / TJIG)

The parking lot is conveniently located to the right of the main entrance and passenger terminal and offers hourly and full-day parking.  If your cruise is embarking from the Pan American Pier and you need a nearby place to park, this is the cheapest way to go.
